What DermScope does
DermScope lets you photograph and measure skin lesions over time using a printed reference card for scale. Every photo, measurement, and note stays on your device — there is no account system, cloud sync, analytics, or telemetry.
DermScope is a documentation and measurement tool only. It does not detect,
diagnose, or assess any medical condition, and it is not a substitute for evaluation by a
licensed clinician.
Getting started
- Print the reference card from the Reference tab and verify its printed diameter with a ruler before first use.
- Add a subject under the Subjects tab, then add a lesion to track.
- Use the Camera tab to capture a measurement photo with the reference card and lesion on the same flat plane.
- Review lesion history and measurements from each lesion's timeline.
Frequently asked questions
- Where are my photos and measurements stored?
- Entirely on your device. DermScope has no network access, no account system, and no cloud sync — nothing is ever uploaded.
- Can I export or share my data?
- Yes. Reports and reference materials leave the app only when you choose to share or export them yourself, from the Reference and Settings screens.
- Why do I need a printed reference card?
- Absolute measurements require a fiducial of known size in the same photo as the lesion. Without it, DermScope can only report relative/geometric values, not millimeter measurements.
- Does DermScope diagnose skin conditions?
- No. It only documents and measures. Any interpretation of what a lesion means should come from a licensed clinician.
- How do I delete all my data?
- Open Settings and use the data controls there to permanently remove subjects, lesions, and measurement photos from your device.
